Georgia Film Academy’s Live Production, Streaming & Esports certification pathway prepares students to work in live event production across an exciting set of industries — including live traditional sports, esports, concerts, news, corporate events, and even livestreaming as an individual content creator.
Students plan and execute events and broadcasts around video game competitions in order to efficiently learn the process, technology, and skills applicable to the broader live production industry. The full pathway covers event design and planning, storytelling, camera work, lighting, graphic asset creation & integration, on-air commentary, and production control room operations using industry standard software and hardware.
Whether you're interested in directing, video-switching, audio engineering, graphics operation, replay operation, on-camera hosting, sportscasting, or even being a solo live-streamer or content creator, this pathway is your launchpad into the fast-paced, creative, and growing field of live production.
The courses are offered at GFA’s hub at Skillshot Media, the leading esports entity in the state.

Introduction to Live Production, Streaming & Esports provides students with basic skills related to live broadcasting and event production, in addition to exposure to the numerous career paths and opportunities within these industries. A team project allows students to design and execute a live-streamed event incorporating lessons learned during the course.
This course will run as GFA 1500 for Summer 2026.
Event Management for Live Production & Esports focuses on the technical production knowledge and skills required for professional positions in the live production and esports events industry. Students will demonstrate learned skills through practical application exercises, multiple live events, and a final class project.
Event Design for Live Production & Esports provides the specialized skills and insight needed for the creation of live entertainment and esports events, including the necessary steps to propose, plan, produce, and market a professional event. Students will demonstrate learned skills through practical application exercises, multiple live events, and a final class project.
Hosting & Casting for Live Production & Esports provides students with the knowledge and practical skills required of a professional live-casting and hosting talent. Students will study live-casting for entertainment events and esports of various genres, and hosting for interviews and analyst desks as they create an industry-standard demo reel.
Creative Development for Live Production & Esports provides students with the knowledge and practical skills required of a professional live-casting and hosting talent, as well as the theoretical context for various performances. Students will study live-casting for entertainment events and esports of various genres, and hosting for interviews and analyst desks, while developing skills for career advancement in the field as they create an industry-standard professional pitch, including a demo reel.
GFA 2000: Film, Television & Digital Entertainment Internship provides students with experiential learning in professional working film/television or esports/game development environments, such as shooting sets, production offices, sceneshops, post-production, esports and/or game development facilities and ancillary businesses, under the personal advisement of industry experts. The course is offered in cooperation with IATSE 479 and major film and television production and digital entertainment companies like Disney, Netflix, HBO, Skillshot Media, Axis Replay and others.
GFA 4000: Film, Television & Digital Entertainment Apprenticeship provides students with career development through experiential learning in film/television or esports/game development environments, such as shooting sets, production offices, post-production, esports and/or game development facilities and ancillary businesses, under the advisement of industry experts. The course is offered in cooperation with IATSE 479 and companies like Disney, Netflix, HBO, Skillshot Media, Axis Replay and others. Apprentices will research career paths and develop a portfolio of work.
