The Georgia Film Academy created a one-week, rigorous, strategically designed teacher training program for this new ELA requirement option course. This one-week training is led by theatre, film & TV industry professionals, and ELA curriculum experts. Nearly 200 teachers from across the state of Georgia completed the training to this date.

Registration for the Dramatic Writing Micro-endorsement Teacher Training is open! We have three options for you to choose from: In-Person at the GFA Trilith Studios Campus, In-Person at The Learning Theater in Canton, GA, and a virtual training option as well.

In-Person Option #1

Our In-person training will be held at The Georgia Film Academy Trilith Campus (Fayetteville, GA) on June 10-14 – (lunch is included).

In-Person Option #2
Cherokee, Co

$750

This year, we are taking the training on the road as we head to Cherokee County June 24-28 to bring the DW Workshop to those North of Atlanta. This workshop is open to any educator or admin (ELA, CTAE, AVTF, etc.) interested in earning their micro-endorsement, honing their skills, or just learning more about Dramatic Writing for Film, TV, and Theatre 1.

The workshop will be held at the Learning Theater - 1020 Keeter Rd Canton, GA.

Virtual Option
6/17-6/22
$750

Our virtual option for this year will be June 17-22 (M/T/Th/Fr/Sa) - do note that this session will not be held on Wednesday for the Juneteenth holiday, but will be held on that Saturday.

All training sessions are 10a-4p.

Once payment is completed, you will receive a link to complete the registration paperwork. County/group rates are available, contact Cooper or Sarah to inquire.

College students can use the discount code DWSTUDENT to receive $100 off their registration.


In partnership with the Georgia Department of Education and Fayette County Schools, the Georgia Film Academy helped create Dramatic Writing for Film, Television, and Theatre I for the state of Georgia. Approved by the GA DOE board (May 2018), as well as USG and TCSG admissions, students can take this course as an English Language Arts requirement option.
