About Dramatic Writing Training

This one-week training is led by theatre, film & TV industry professionals, and ELA curriculum experts. Nearly 300 teachers from across the state of Georgia completed the training to this date. This intensive and in-depth course will introduce educators to concepts, assignments, and best practices for teaching Dramatic Writing.

Completing the training will provide:

  • Micro-endorsement required to teach the course
  • Access to a robust year-long curriculum

  • Educators who will be teaching Dramatic Writing
  • AVTF and Theatre Educators interested in enhancing their students’ classroom experience
  • Any one interested in gaining an in-depth understanding in teaching film, TV, and theatre concepts!

In partnership with the Georgia Department of Education and Fayette County Schools, the Georgia Film Academy helped create Dramatic Writing for Film, Television, and Theatre I for the state of Georgia. Approved by the GA DOE board (May 2018), as well as USG and TCSG admissions, students can take this course as an English Language Arts requirement option.
