What to Expect During Open House
Hands-On Demos, A 16,000 sq/ft Soundstage, Instructor/Staff Meet-and-Greet
- Art Department On Display Tour our workshop and visit multiple sets designed and constructed by students.
- Lighting Expo Explore the uses of set lights from small to HUGE and traditional bulb to LED.
- World of Grip & Rigging (and Camera) Get your hands on C-stands, light stands, camera dollies, stingers, and modifiers to see how grips shape light and make cameras move.
- Broadcast: We'll Do It Live! Test your skills as an on-air broadcaster, control room operator, and even a player in our Live Events, Streaming, and Esports experience.
- Post-Production: The Final Mile Visit our editing bays for demonstrations on sound and picture editing.

Workshop: Let's Make A Scene
A Film Crew Experience (available multiple times during Open House)
Hop into a crew role and help make a scene!
Take a quick dive into multiple roles in a mock-scene on one of our fully lit sets. Open to anyone of any experience, this workshop lets you go through the motions of capturing the most important shot of any scene: The Master Shot.
Not sure what a Master Shot is? No problem.
Never touched a camera before? No problem.
Really you just want to say "Quiet On Set!" or "Action!" really loud? No problem!
We'll introduce you to several roles and responsibilities including 1st AD, 1st AC, 2nd AC, Camera Operator, Focus Puller, Slate, Grip, and more!
